Mittenwald is a city located approximately 16 kilometres to the south-east of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It is situated in the Valley of the River Isar. Mittenwald lies in the region ‘Alpenwelt Karwendel’ and offers all kinds of outdoor activities such as mountain-hiking, mountaineering, climbing, and skiing.
Moreover, Mittenwald is world famous for their violin makers. Since the 17th century and the famous violin maker Matthias Klotz, is Mittenwald home to some of the best violin makers in the world. You can visit the manufactures and watch the masters work on their instruments.

I visited Mittenwald and the Leutaschtal with my parents. We went to the violin makers, e.g. Leonhardt, and walked on the Achweg in the Leutaschtal.
